Sim Classroom: Teaching UX through Feng Shui
UX or OCD?
Either I’m obsessed with the UX of everything, or it could be that I have a mild case of undiagnosed OCD, but the impulse to optimize the arrangement of my classroom’s furniture is both a blessing and a curse to my students.
About once a week, after observing the traffic flow and social behaviors of my students, I experimentally move around the desks and class supplies to see what improvements it might bring. The responses I get usually fall into one of these categories: “Whoa! This is way better!”, “Did something change?”, or “Why do you keep moving everything around?!”
My quick-access justification is in the name of improved user experience.
